We are thrilled to announce the return of the 2024 International Fair, hosted at CATIE (Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Center) on August 31th and September 1st. This event aims to benefit 14 social welfare institutions in Turrialba, uniting communities for a noble cause.

Event Highlights:

  • Dates: August 31th and September 1st, 2024

  • Location: CATIE, Turrialba, Costa Rica.

What to Expect: Attendees will indulge in a variety of recreational, sports, and cultural activities. Explore traditional cuisines from 16 Latin American and Caribbean countries, prepared by beneficiary institutions under the guidance of CATIE's Graduate School students.

Commitment to Social Development: Melissa Quesada, director of Atirro School, highlighted the impact of previous fairs on their community. "Atirro School, a single-teacher institution serving children from indigenous communities, has benefited greatly from the fair's support," she shared. Projects such as restoring the dining hall and enhancing the school's infrastructure were made possible through this solidarity.

Yendry Solís, administrative coordinator of San Buenaventura Nursing Home, expressed gratitude for the fair's contributions. "Income from the event has significantly improved the lives of our elderly residents," Solís stated. Projects like constructing a therapy area bathroom and enhancing security measures reflect the fair's profound impact on local institutions.

Previous Success: In 2023, the CATIE International Fair raised ¢20,764,896.23, benefiting 10 institutions and associations across Turrialba.
