CATIE Launches the First Virtual Master's Program in Sustainable Agribusiness in Latin America
This month, 27 new students from 12 countries around the world began the executive master’s program in Agribusiness Management and Sustainable Markets (GANEMOS) at the Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Center (CATIE). The popularity of the program highlights young adults’ interest in developing businesses that are managed in more sustainable ways.
Agroforestry Update - CATIE to host NAA Conference
CATIE will host the 18th North American Agroforestry Conference (NAAC) in Turrialba, Costa Rica in February, 2024
The Association for Temperate Agroforestry (AFTA) convenes the North American Agroforestry Conference (NAAC) biennially to continually enrich our understanding of research and development outcomes within temperate agroforestry production systems. CATIE will host this year's conference on February 20-22, 2024.
CATIE and PROMECAFE Launch a New Degree-Granting Program in Sustainable and Innovative Coffee Farming
This month, CATIE opened enrolment for its new International Master's program in Sustainable and Resilient Coffee Farming alongside a micro-credentialing program offering a Technical Diploma in Innovative Coffee Farming. CATIE is providing these two new opportunities in collaboration with the Regional Cooperative Program for Technological Development and Modernization of Coffee Farming (PROMECAFE).
Reshaping Futures and Building Resilient Communities in Costa Rica
This month, Southwest Airlines and CATIE recommitted to expand their partnership in support of Southwest’s award-winning Repurpose with Purpose program, a global sustainability initiative that partners with organizations to upcycle thousands of pounds of aircraft seat leather into new products each year, keeping it out of landfills.
In 2024, the CATIE team will receive thousands of pounds of donated leather and provide employment, skills training, and other social benefits to women and men from Turrialba and Mollejones, Costa Rica.
