May 16, 2023. For the third consecutive year, CATIE (Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Center) and Verto Education sign a new collaboration agreement with the purpose of facilitating students from the United States to study for a semester on CATIE’s campus in Turrialba. Aside from earning college credits, the students will expand their knowledge and learning while being surrounded by the diverse nature, culture, gastronomy and traditions in the region.

Since 2021, this alliance has strengthened student exchange and positively impacted the economy of the Turrialba community, increasing the demand for local products and services, as well as the promotion of tourism and rural development.

“This alliance represents a great challenge for our institution; renewing this agreement for the third consecutive year obliges us to improve the services we offer and provide better experiences for our students. This is yet another way to celebrate our 50th anniversary," said Carlos Araya, CATIE's Director of Green Business Development, Resource Mobilization and Strategic Alliances.

Verto Education program is a student exchange abroad program that works with U.S. universities and provides students with the opportunity for multidisciplinary learning, whereby they can gain valuable skills and tools for personal and professional development while exploring new environments.
